Treating my Home to a New Look

After the offer on the house was accepted, I got to work making it my own.  Much like many new home owners, I painted the walls, moved in my furniture and even did a little work out in the yard to give my place a bit of my own personality.  I’ve never had my own place that wasn’t rented in my life, so doing these little things felt good especially since it was my first time.  Things really came together for me the first few weeks, and if you came over now, you would think that I have been here for years.

But there was one thing on my list that needed to be done that I just didn’t have the money to do when I bough the house – replacing the windows.  The ones that were on the house I’m sure were the original ones that were on the home, and it really needed a facelift.

So I had been shopping for windows replacement in Glendale for the past few weeks looking for the perfect windows for my home.  I had this idea as to what my house should look like and I wanted to pull that dream out of my head and have it in the real world.

That isn’t too much for a girl to ask, is it?

Early this week I finally found the windows I have been looking for and they will be having them installed tomorrow.  I can’t wait to see what a difference the new windows will make to the look of my home.

Possibly Found my New Home

As many of you know, my lease for the apartment that I have lived in since I moved out of my parent’s house is coming to a close.  With no opportunity to renew, I have been searching for a new house to live in.  Originally I thought that I would just rent another apartment, but the thought of owning my own place really called out to me.

So, I have been looking at houses.  It is a perfect time to buy as the housing prices are very favorable in the area and I have looked at more than two dozen of them in person.  I have a few items on my wish list, and though time is running out on my lease, I want to make sure that I don’t compromise on what I want.

There is one home that I am thinking of putting an offer on, but I wanted to make sure that there were no mold issues.  One of the things that the realtor had mentioned was that the basement flooded a couple of years ago, so I am having a mold inspection done before I place an offer.  I have permission from the home owner, so if there is no mold, this will be my new home.

I have my fingers crossed that everything goes smoothly – I’ll know for sure in about a week.
