Treating my Home to a New Look

After the offer on the house was accepted, I got to work making it my own.  Much like many new home owners, I painted the walls, moved in my furniture and even did a little work out in the yard to give my place a bit of my own personality.  I’ve never had my own place that wasn’t rented in my life, so doing these little things felt good especially since it was my first time.  Things really came together for me the first few weeks, and if you came over now, you would think that I have been here for years.

But there was one thing on my list that needed to be done that I just didn’t have the money to do when I bough the house – replacing the windows.  The ones that were on the house I’m sure were the original ones that were on the home, and it really needed a facelift.

So I had been shopping for windows replacement in Glendale for the past few weeks looking for the perfect windows for my home.  I had this idea as to what my house should look like and I wanted to pull that dream out of my head and have it in the real world.

That isn’t too much for a girl to ask, is it?

Early this week I finally found the windows I have been looking for and they will be having them installed tomorrow.  I can’t wait to see what a difference the new windows will make to the look of my home.

Possibly Found my New Home

As many of you know, my lease for the apartment that I have lived in since I moved out of my parent’s house is coming to a close.  With no opportunity to renew, I have been searching for a new house to live in.  Originally I thought that I would just rent another apartment, but the thought of owning my own place really called out to me.

So, I have been looking at houses.  It is a perfect time to buy as the housing prices are very favorable in the area and I have looked at more than two dozen of them in person.  I have a few items on my wish list, and though time is running out on my lease, I want to make sure that I don’t compromise on what I want.

There is one home that I am thinking of putting an offer on, but I wanted to make sure that there were no mold issues.  One of the things that the realtor had mentioned was that the basement flooded a couple of years ago, so I am having a mold inspection done before I place an offer.  I have permission from the home owner, so if there is no mold, this will be my new home.

I have my fingers crossed that everything goes smoothly – I’ll know for sure in about a week.

Found Some New Groomers Pants

With my new job starting in a few days, I needed to make sure that I had the right clothing for work.  I had never worked in a grooming salon before, so I asked my new boss what I should buy.

She told me to pickup some groomers pants for my first day at work.  It wasn’t going to be until next week, so I knew that I would have enough time if I ordered them online.

Which is exactly what I did.

The reason that I ordered them online was that I wanted to get a good deal on the clothing and have different color selections than what the local store carried.  I knew that it was going to be a work uniform, but that doesn’t mean that I need to look like everyone else, right?

I have ordered a couple pairs of pants and a few shirts to wear at work and I am hoping that they will be able to work for me while I am deciding whether or not this will be my new permanent job.  I don’t want to commit until I know for sure as I need to find something that I love and that doesn’t feel like work.

I’ll know in a couple of weeks if I have found my dream job or not – wish me luck!

Window Shopping. Literally

I know that I have said some crazy things in my life, but I think today’s blog post will take the cake.  You see, I was out today “window shopping” in the literal sense.

I was shopping for windows in Los Angeles.

It is no joke, though as I write it here at the computer, I can’t help but chuckle a little bit.

I am funny like that.

Anyway, I was out window shopping for my mother.  She accidentally broke one of her windows this week while she was cleaning them and she was too embarrassed to go out shopping for a new one for fear that the sales clerk would ask her why she needed a new window.

So, I volunteered to do it for her.  I didn’t want her to suffer any kind of shame for the predicament that she found herself in.  I tried to explain to her that I did the exact same thing just a couple of years ago when I was off to college, but that didn’t settle her one bit.

It meant I was the one that was going to have to make it happen.

I didn’t find it to be that difficult of a task since I had experience doing it, and honestly I thought it was going to be a bit fun.  I am just thankful that she asked me for the help – sometimes she can be too proud to ask.

Helping a Friend Out

One of the things that I have always believed in is that you help your neighbor.  These people that live in close proximity to us can be the first ones to offer help when there is a problem, so I have always tried to cultivate good relationships with them.  Though challenging at times, the time that I have spent making friends has paid off over time.

One example of helping someone out would be what I did today.  My neighbor, Jeff, came over and asked if I could help with some kind of water extraction from his carpet.

I had no idea what he meant.

When I went over to his apartment, he cautioned me to leave my shoes on as his floor was wet.  At first I thought that he might have spilled something, but after taking a look at the place, I learned that it was a lot worse:

His waterbed broke.

There was water everywhere and he was concerned that the water would leak into the unit below him.  I took his ShopVac and started sucking up the water and emptying the vacuum.  Little by little we were able to get the water off of the floor and down the drain.  We are just taking a break now, but I think that we will be up just about all night.

What a way to spend a Friday night!

Some Background Guidelines On Prudent Programs In Resume Examples Objective

Estimating house painting jobs is one thing that you develop as time passes. I can enter any house and range from place to place and tell you by eye the amount of paint you need to perform the ceilings, walls and woodwork. I can also tell you just about the length of time it will take to paint each room basically.

The basic requirements being qualified to apply for a Singapore Employment Pass is that the foreigner applicant should have a set monthly salary of at least S$2,500 and must hold the recognized qualifications which include acceptable degrees, professional qualifications or specialist skills. 1. Not Addressing the Letter to a Person - This is a big mistake in the world of covering letters. Generic greetings, for example To whom it may concern or Dear Human Resources Team, usually are not favorable. If the job description or job posting doesn't include a contact person, you want to do some investigation and locate one.

In fact, if you are able to recognize an area that is similar for a former specialization, or that merely captures your eye it can be good to keep two working resumes accessible. One can find those employers that are offering work specific for your specialization, the other might be tailored for those jobs that your particular are going to try your hand at and have a reasonable volume of skills and qualifications in order to do so. You should also be certain to help keep resume cover letter and salary requirements on file also.

* Avoid paid blog sites: I've mentored many new bloggers and so they always voice the identical concern--"I thought I had to get a blog." Websites generally are not free, but blogs don't (or shouldn't). Sure, it is possible to pay if you want to. There are blog platforms that can happily take your hard earned money. I fell for a paid blog scam when I started blogging six in the past. I began on Blogit (don't use this site--avoid it as being a sinkhole). I was charged $9.95 monthly (for that first month--fees went up after that). Blogit charges users to see its blogs, too. Pretty cheeky when print newspapers and magazines offer online for free versions with their publications.

For example, what about David Walliams and James Corden "enjoying" a tongues-and-everything snog for the catwalk at Naomi Campbell's Fashion for Relief Haiti charity show? Stomach-turning for many, but presumably it absolutely was all for charidee, which makes it perfectly acceptable (not that there's anything wrong with' oh, you already know).

But don't let the networking part of blogging consume you, and do not spending some time networking while using wrong people. Remember, again, that the point of your blog post is always to communicate to clients, not to fellow freelancers, friends, family members, or perhaps the random Internet surfer. Use a personal blog or perhaps be part of a blog network for that sort of communication. For the blog on your professional site, however, implement your normal online community techniques (finding similar blogs, commenting, responding in forums, using social networking sites) to advertise your blog post in the Internet spaces where your prospective clients are chilling out. Find the websites that are popular with your prospective clients, and make up a presence for yourself there; use your website to activate, respond, discuss relevant topics, and turn into section of those online conversations. Keep your posts on topic, professional, and well-written.

5) You may eventually have more income...

Blogging has changed into a very profitable business for many people. Either they receive money to write down blogs for other bloggers or they've created money advertising in their own individual blog. There are many approaches to generate income blogging through advertising if your traffic increases with each passing month, the chance to generate profits through blogging also increases. But for those of you who try and get into blogging to get-rich-quick you will be looking for a rude awakening. I would point out that the reason you should start your blog post is simply because you might be excited about this issue and wish to be able to share your views about that topic. If it ends up that you eventually make a dollar or two pursing your passion, a great deal the better...
